Bicycle frames became oversized as their designers, metallurgists, and materials engineers came to understand they could make them stiffer and more resistant to deforming by expanding their diameter. Campagnolo engineers applied this same thinking to Chorus hubs...and with the same results. The oversize design of the Chorus hub makes it more resistant to axial and torsional forces. The hub shell, axle pin, and freehub body are in light alloy- the source of some weight loss. The hubs' internal components-cone, bearings and cage, and cups-are identical, left and right...and front and rear. This makes maintaining them easier. Bearing adjustment is performed quickly with an Allen wrench on the threaded aluminum adjustment lock ring on the axle pin. You don't even have to remove the wheel from the dropouts; it can stay mounted on the bike. - 9s/10s
